Renault Scenic ZEV H2 (2008)

The Renault-Nissan Alliance is continuing its work on prototypes of electric vehicles with fuel cell, allowing a significant gain in terms of autonomy but are more complex to industrialize and market heavily. Indeed, the deployment of this technology requires a rupture production infrastructure, transport and distribution of hydrogen (there are fewer than 300 stations worldwide in 2008), and a fuel cell optimized cost, including through the reduction of noble metals.
Based on a Grand Scenic, Scenic ZEV H2 was developed jointly within the Alliance. Nissan has supplied the fuel cell, the high-pressure hydrogen tank and lithium-ion battery. Renault engineers have developed the architecture of Grand Scenic to accommodate these different elements in the basement. The floor was amended and the vehicle was heightened by 60 mm. In the end, habitability initial vehicle (5 places adults) is fully preserved, a first for this kind of prototype Fuel Cell.

Renault engineering has also integrated electrical systems and electronic Renault and Nissan.
