During the Winter Olympics Vancouver 2010 (from February 12 to 28), 20 hydrogen buses boarded the public to Whistler mountain resort (where various competitions are held).

These buses ecologists have been concocted by a consortium including Canada’s Ballard is. They are equipped with a hydrogen engine, a fuel cell (housed on the roof) and an electric battery. It is the Canadian federal and British Columbia who funded the project of 89.5 million.

The fueling station, located in the municipal bus depot, has a capacity of 26 000 liters!

This fleet of 20 hydrogen buses will still be outstanding after the Olympics: good news, ticket prices will remain the same for users.

The price of a hydrogen-powered buses is 2 million Canadian dollars (cons 500 000 Canadian dollars for a traditional bus). A significant investment that is well worth it!

The organizers of the Olympics and the Whistler ski resort and want to limit the impact of transport on the environment.

In its research and development center in Los Angeles, Honda has taken the second generation of a hydrogen refueling station in operation. That should be possible in the future, electric vehicles loaded with fuel new home for the night. The station fits in the garage and produced in eight hours the normal daily requirement of 0.5 kilograms of hydrogen.

Previous stations needed a Elctrolyse unit plus a separate compressor, umd to put pressure on the gas and liquefy. The compressor was there the biggest and most expensive component. ErsteStation As the world comes the new Honda without a compressor station and is thus considerably smaller and at least 25% more efficient

With this easy-to handhabendenTechnologie stored hydrogen does not need to be and can be produced with cheap off-peak power. During the day, solar cells produce 6kW of power station, which is fed into Netzt and thus CO2 neutral earned money.

The Honda Solar Hydrogen Station was developed as a supplement to the public network of the fast charger. The Honda FCX Clarity fuel-cell drive can be quickly loaded and offers a range of 460 kilometers. With 5-minute quick charge for longer trips and more comfortable night charge live rush hour and weekend trips no problem.

This was confirmed by the manufacturers at a conference in Monaco: “Until then, customers will be for a car with the environmentally driven not need much more than pay for a better-equipped hybrid model,” said investigator Arwed Niestroj.

Production stage, the technology had already reached, however, stressed Joachim Schmidt, head of sales with a view to the first 200 vehicles produced by industrial processes, and in 2010 delivered in a pilot project. They are based on the current B-class and are driven by an electric motor with 100 kW and a torque of 290 Newton meters. Although the fuel cell needs in the B-class normalized to 100 kilometers is just 3.3 liters of diesel and hydrogen at the current price of around nine euros per kilo cheaper to maintain

Cosmo Oil Co., a hydrogen station in Yokohama Daikoku, 70MPa pressure hydrogen storage for fuel tanks for fuel cell vehicles increased pressure on the completed work (presentation materials). 2008 on December 1, the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to begin filling demonstrate.

Fuel-cell cars, automobile gasoline mileage level to achieve, hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles need to increase the amount. 35MPa in the mainstream of current from the fuel tank to increase pressure 70MPa, in order to improve mileage and effective way is 70Mpa already in the United States and in Germany for hydrogen storage systems and fuel cell vehicles using hydrogen station. Testing has already begun a public road.

The experiment, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, “Empirical studies of fuel cell systems” is part of a “hydrogen fuel cell demonstration” (JHFC project). In the Kanto area of four hydrogen stations are planned to respond to 70MPa, Daikoku One of the hydrogen station in Yokohama, in cooperation with Iwatani International said. 35MPa at the station, filling the tank of hydrogen can be carried out as usual.

GENEPAC baptized by PSA, the fuel cell under the direction of Jean-Pierre Lisse and Olivier Salvat, is, like many developments at Peugeot-Citroen, practical and applicable in reality. Here it is not a stroke of marketing the Prius, but a concept offering a real alternative to fossil fuels. Choose hydrogen as an energy carrier, GENEPAC is a type of “range extender”, similar to the Chevrolet Volt.

A vehicle H2Origin a fuel cell of 20 kW is coupled to a battery pack capable of providing 15 kWh. So when the batteries are empty, the fuel cell, fueled by 4 kg of compressed hydrogen at 700 bars in a tank carbon composite, which recharges the batteries, allowing the H2Origin to continue its journey. And how it behaves there?

This is well led and much better than the improved golf carts that some have described as electric cars at the Salon! The engine produces 20 kW ample enough to bring the couple together at speed on small roads Yvelines. Well, it only remains to find a factor of 10 in terms of production costs PAC system and establish a network of hydrogen stations. Pending this, what would you have a small engine to replace the fuel cell story unblock the same as Chevrolet? Follow my gaze.

Breakthroughs should be a lot of challenges in the future given the mobility of cars on the undoubtedly important. So Nissan is currently developing a test ride in the X-TRAIL FCV, including infrastructure, tried to track issues.

In 1996, Nissan to develop fuel cell vehicles will start in earnest. Until then, the concept was announced and the technical, but the real action FCV cars of the 1990s as a starting point to say. In 1999 and started testing the vehicle. However, this method should present the FCV has almost disappeared. That improved technology Quashi difficult to extract hydrogen, and that will take time to start the neck. Quick-start the car and asked KAKAWA were successful, removing hydrogen reforming the Quashi, I would have been a time lag.

V-shaped recovery and the birth of the X-TRAIL FCV

In 2002 the Japanese government and, finally, FCV to a full-fledged research and development, conducted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry JHFC (Japan Hydrogen & FYUERUSERU demonstration project) started. Nissan also participate in JHFG course, the same year in December, leading to the current X-TRAIL FCV FCV to have been born. The products and technologies, recycling and environmental protection efforts of the mid-term environmental action plan decided, “Nissan Green Program 2005″ was because of the backing.
Another important how the hydrogen is produced. FCV is the ultimate eco-car, but creating hydrogen from fossil fuels are not a true Eco. Such as solar and wind power generation using renewable energy to produce hydrogen is not required. The ultimate in solar cells and wind power and hydrogen to create a self-generating, private cars and hydrogen filling (filling).

This year, the first time in eight years in Japan summit was held (Summit). The 34th Summit, July 7-9held in Hokkaido, but the auto manufacturers to environment-related technology and a series of new fuel-cell vehicles in the announcement. Nissan X-TRAIL and clean-diesel is sent to the, FCV did not talk about.
After about a month from the summit on August 6, announced the new fuel cell stack, and at the same time in 2010 and to introduce a new hybrid electric vehicles (rear-wheel drive), has announced a new lithium-ion batteries. After a month on September 5, the world’s first SHIRIKONKABAITO (SiC) devices for use in vehicles has to barter. EV FCV as well as a series of related technology has advanced. In particular, the conventional fuel cell separators made of carbon change from the thin metal of the performance. The volume of the stack from the traditional 90L and 68L and the much smaller, 90kW output from 130kW to improve rapidly. In addition, the amount of platinum used in 1 / 2 and at the same time to reduce the durability of catalyst is also increasing. It’s worth noting the future, this new stack and a new lithium-ion batteries, SHIRIKONKABAITO (SiC) devices used in the inverter, is the introduction of next-generation FCV.
FCV is currently based on the next generation of Nissan cars and has been selected to stage in the near future with new models such as the stack is likely to appear. A stack of high-performance X-TRAIL than that of a large vehicle that can be used, so the introduction of the new Murano FCV may be. FCV still in the research phase, but the turning point in 2015.
FCV and the 70MPa hydrogen station and the U.S. are underway in Germany, GM and Daimler-70MPa FCV and the running of public roads. Also, in Japan FCCJ (Council for the Promotion of practical application of fuel cells), recent domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers in the domestic energy companies under the agreement, “fuel-cell vehicles and hydrogen filling stations to popularize business in 2015 and started full-scale” Has announced that scenario, 70MPa, and one of the first important step is.

Demonstration was held to 12, 2007 at the start of the project is implemented, Niiti Tomuro Association for the Promotion of Engineering, and he Shiyougo Watanabe of Japan Automobile Research Institute to the press before presenting a summary trial. Among the main test of a hydrogen station in charge of the said, “70MPa to be filled, 35MPa was not required in the need to be devised. For example, is filled with hydrogen and a fast rise in temperature. 70MPa goal Value in three minutes or five minutes trying to fill this need for cooling and energy, FCV well to wheel of a decline in energy efficiency. Future, ECV when the spread of the automobile Mitigation of environmental impact in order to fulfill the role that the tank production in the refrigerant temperature and the amount of energy consumed by data measured, the extended-range, FCV and the balance of convenience must be verified “, Explained the purpose of testing.

Tokyo Gas, the Ministry of Economy, “Hydrogen Fuel Cell Demonstration Project (JHFC Project),” based on trials have demonstrated that hydrogen station JHFC (Tokyo), hydrogen fueling pressure on the traditional two-fold And 70 MPa (700 Pressure) equipment to supply expanding this as a demonstration study began.
Regarding the practical use of fuel cell vehicles, hydrogen storage methods and vehicle mileage (range) is the major challenge to the extension. 70MPa-board hydrogen storage, the weight of hydrogen to increase the range and effective means of expanding one of the demonstration study abroad is also progressing.
Tokyo Gas said the demonstration study, which until JHFC 35 MPa hydrogen demonstration station using the test pressure swing adsorption (PSA) scheme to use hydrogen production equipment. At the same time, the additional 80 MPa hydrogen compressor, gas facilities, driving, 70 MPa hydrogen to fill. The bus driver through the optimum speed filling and related equipment safety and durability of the system-wide evaluation, such as energy efficiency, fuel cell vehicles consider the optimum pressure hydrogen storage and related equipment, components and materials for standardized data Acquisition, analysis was conducted.
Along this verification test, Tokyo Gas has been using two 35 MPa corresponding fuel cell vehicles of one, 70 MPa hydrogen storage system with the new fuel cell car, “Toyota FCHV-adv” change the (Nikkei Ecology edit / EMF)
