During the Winter Olympics Vancouver 2010 (from February 12 to 28), 20 hydrogen buses boarded the public to Whistler mountain resort (where various competitions are held).

These buses ecologists have been concocted by a consortium including Canada’s Ballard is. They are equipped with a hydrogen engine, a fuel cell (housed on the roof) and an electric battery. It is the Canadian federal and British Columbia who funded the project of 89.5 million.

The fueling station, located in the municipal bus depot, has a capacity of 26 000 liters!

This fleet of 20 hydrogen buses will still be outstanding after the Olympics: good news, ticket prices will remain the same for users.

The price of a hydrogen-powered buses is 2 million Canadian dollars (cons 500 000 Canadian dollars for a traditional bus). A significant investment that is well worth it!

The organizers of the Olympics and the Whistler ski resort and want to limit the impact of transport on the environment.

In its research and development center in Los Angeles, Honda has taken the second generation of a hydrogen refueling station in operation. That should be possible in the future, electric vehicles loaded with fuel new home for the night. The station fits in the garage and produced in eight hours the normal daily requirement of 0.5 kilograms of hydrogen.

Previous stations needed a Elctrolyse unit plus a separate compressor, umd to put pressure on the gas and liquefy. The compressor was there the biggest and most expensive component. ErsteStation As the world comes the new Honda without a compressor station and is thus considerably smaller and at least 25% more efficient

With this easy-to handhabendenTechnologie stored hydrogen does not need to be and can be produced with cheap off-peak power. During the day, solar cells produce 6kW of power station, which is fed into Netzt and thus CO2 neutral earned money.

The Honda Solar Hydrogen Station was developed as a supplement to the public network of the fast charger. The Honda FCX Clarity fuel-cell drive can be quickly loaded and offers a range of 460 kilometers. With 5-minute quick charge for longer trips and more comfortable night charge live rush hour and weekend trips no problem.

Borrego FECV is driven by a 110kW, AC electric horse Ta, powered fuel cells were placed in the lower compartment, this group of the battery can deliver 115kW of power. Interesting things, Kia claim that they do not need high-pressure fuel cell air pressure, so I do not compressors that a majority of the major components of fuel cell vehicles. Kia also said that their fuel cell vehicles can use 98% of all hydrogen to produce energy.

Brake energy recovery system from the electricity will be stored in a super-capacitor module, and then will be needed to provide additional impetus. Kia has not yet indicated that they use 700Bar hydrogen storage capacity of the system, but the car’s mileage up to 700 kilometers, Kia plans to produce in 2012 small-scale Borreg FCEV, while the large-scale production will have to in the small-scale production after three years.

The Honda FCX Clarity, a new revolutionary small fuel cell provides the central tunnel for the electricity, the electric motor drives the 100kW(136Hp) the four-seat sedan. 258 Nm torque serve from the first moment of driving pleasure. Small engine, small fuel cells, small lithium-ion battery and hydrogen tank, a shallow (171ltr.) under the rear seats have given the designers the opportunity to design a car with an optimal space for the passengers. Because unlike a conventional powertrain, the individual units need not be fitted to each other in certain positions. This results in a short hood, and an extremely falch niedruiger subfloor (no exhaust system) and a one-box design with lots of space. In 1625-pound FCX Clarity will be 160 km/h fast. With a consumption of 2.8 liters of diesel per 100 km corresponds pruduziert but no exhaust other than water vapor. Range: 460 kilometers

Daihatsu is “The 41st Tokyo Motor Show,” was exhibited, hydrazine hydrate (hydrate Haidorajin: N2H4 · H2O) using a fuel cell vehicle platform, as compared to conventional fuel cells use hydrogen as fuel and on the available amount of liquid fuel with fewer, platinum (Pt) without the need for expensive catalysts such as precious metals (Figure 1, story).

The new fuel cell has been developed by Daihatsu, fuel hydrazine hydrate (N2H4 · H2O) can be introduced directly into the power generation and liquid fuels. Conventional PEFC (polymer fuel cell electrolyte population), the catalyst used, was used expensive platinum-based catalyst is required to work in the highly acidic environment.

In contrast, Daihatsu PMfLFC alkaline environment because it works, characterized by the use of cobalt and nickel as a catalyst. Could be reduced substantially the cost of fuel cells for this purpose. The use of hydrogen fuel for the PEFC, it can use liquid fuel, the fuel easier to handle, it is characterized by a high degree of freedom in the shape of the fuel tank.

However, many issues still to be commercialized. One is the efficiency, at present to less than PEFC. Therefore, in collaboration with foreign universities and research institutions are continuing efforts to improve efficiency. The 30 percent concentration or higher concentration of hydrazine hydrate is toxic control law has been given to the deleterious substance, and essential safety measures. Daihatsu This is assumed to be of solid polymer with hydrazine hydrate inside the fuel tank.

The new fuel cell vehicle offers everything that people expect from a Mercedes-Benz: High comfort and safety as well as no reduction in interior space and boot capacity. Customers will not have to sacrifice any driving pleasure either, because the electric motor has a peak performance of 100 kW/136 hp and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, which is available from the first rotation. It ensures that the B‑Class F-CELL, whose impressive dynamic handling properties are in some cases far better than those of a two-litre petrol car, gets off to an excellent start. Despite these qualities, the zero-emission fuel cell drive consumes the equivalent of only 3.3 litres of diesel fuel per 100 kilometres (NEDC). Thanks to its great range of about 400 kilometres and short refuelling times of around three minutes, the B‑Class F-CELL ensures local zero-emission mobility even for long stretches.

It was just. Mercedes has announced several times that he would have a hydrogen car into production before the end of the decade. We wanted to believe, but we saw in 2010 will bring … And finally here is the car. It was afraid, but here it is, and it is real. It is a class B as we had already seen several prototypes on many shows. Except it is no longer a prototype. It is still far from mass production, Mercedes does not provide for a first time to produce 200 copies. But it is a milestone of crossing over the prototype made by unit.

The rate provided is 2 cars per day. It’s little, but it already requires a dedicated organization, and Mercedes has put in place. It is true that the task was considerably simpler than that manufactures the Honda Clarity: Class B is a model already in production. The car already exists with gasoline engines, diesel or natural gas. And this versatility has opened doors that was enough to open a slightly larger version of this CAP. The integration is perfect, and even surprising, since touring the owner, it is difficult to see that it is a hydrogen car.
