The utilities are also entitled to their green technology! Roush Technologies Ltd (car preparer specializing in commercial vehicles) and ITM Power plc (dedicated to hydrogen technology) work together on a project to circulate on roads in the UK vehicles powered by gasoline or with hydrogen.
They are based on the utility Ford Transit, with a 4-cylinder petrol engine 2.3 liters. The latter has undergone transformations to run on hydrogen: it has a compressor and 3 tanks of 4.5 kg of hydrogen (350 bars) placed under the chassis. It enjoys autonomy up to 217 km.
At their marketing, these green vehicles will be accompanied by a small electrolyzer (requiring a water supply and electricity) and transmits the compressed hydrogen tank for recharging. The electric car is no longer the only benefit from this type of fueling system! The initial target customers? Businesses and environmental organizations who wish to show their commitment in the fight against auto pollution.
Roush Technologies is responsible for changes in utilities and development of new units for the use of hydrogen fuel. ITM Power electrolyzers provides to enable motorists to generate their own green fuel. This partnership offers a comprehensive set of technology to customers.
